It's already 2017...in 11 months. Right? Total shocker. I know I can hardly believe it, how quickly 2016 came, then how quickly the first month of 2016 flew by. February. Hmm.
Time flies. As a child I recall adults perpetually encouraging me to enjoy my childhood. "Take advantage of these days, kid! Soak it in while ya can", they'd say to me, before I'd even lost my own front teeth. If you didn't hear it in your house, then all you needed to do was turn on the radio. Even the band The Script suggests how fast time goes by in their song "This = Love".

"Time flies but you're the pilot
It moves real fast but you're the driver"
These are the types of so called guidance, if you will, that we all grow up on. The ridiculous truth to this actuality? If you are not the one hearing it, you are one of the individuals making it known.
Guilty as charged.
Recently this past December, as I celebrated my 18th birthday, I came to the realization that -truth be told- those adults may have been right after all. Nothing quite says adult-ing like joining the vicious cycle. But I must say, I don't feel ashamed to become a culprit of this bandwagon, either. (Sorry kids!)
Maybe you're in high school and you're just starting to realize that soon it'll all be over. Maybe you're at a stage where you wish for all those missed opportunities. You're facing that "real world" everyone has been talking about. Perhaps you like to live in the moment. You might be in a strange, unfamiliar place you've never been before. Maybe you're just run down. There's pressure on you to perform, places to go, places to see.
I’m writing this in hopes of helping you out. Yes, you. Whoever you are. Wherever you happen to be in this phenomenon. You're not alone. Take the time to appreciate life and cherish it. Time flies!

On another note of ridiculousness, I've been meaning to share some photos for a while now and figured it would be fitting to do so now. So, keep scrolling! Ultimately, it just seems that lately there's just been other tasks ahead of me. Nonetheless, time sure has a way of slipping away from us sometimes.
During the holidays in December, my mom, my sisters and I hosted a girls weekend at our time share where we were joined with some friends and family. This was my family's third time at Elkorn Resort, and we absolutely always enjoy returning!
I was especially looking forward to the weekend as I was celebrating my eighteenth birthday that Saturday. Lots of fun was had... (in no particular order) tobogganing, skating, swimming, then hot-tubbing, eating... and eating some more. (We may or may not have had ice cream cake for breakfast every morning. Let's just say I think we all gained a few pounds!) Since I officially became legal drinking age here, another special highlight was being treated at the bar with my cousin.

Aside from focusing on a little quality girl time and R&R, I was also super happy to get out and take a few shots outdoors. Might I add that I am always amazed at how beautiful our nature is, right here in Manitoba! Take a look for yourself.
