Hello 2016, and Happy New Year everyone! Wishing you love, laughter, and genuine happiness in the New Year. I hope your holidays were full of blessings.
This highly celebrated time of the year has always been one of my favourites. While a new year does commonly indicate a closure to a chapter, it also grants us a new beginning. The New Year is an ideal time for fresh opportunity, and I am excited to see what is in store for 2016!

Stereo-typically, the mantra "new year, new me" comes into play this time of year as people begin creating new resolutions. Although I've never quite been the type to make New Year resolutions, I am a firm believer in setting year round goals. This year however, I completed one of my first ever goals (or resolutions, if you must)! Throughout the year I made an effort to create a memory jar, a reminder of everything to be grateful for.
Opening my "2015 jar" at the end of the year was a great souvenir that allowed me to appreciate some memories again. I think this is a tradition I will continue to do in the years ahead. Making a memory jar is something I would suggest you do too!
►Here is just a sneak peak from every month of my 2015 memory jar:
•January 1, 2015: went for a sleigh ride at Birds Hill
•February 16, 2015: played in the Winnipeg Ringette League's All-Star Game
•March 4, 2015: last orthodontist appointment, ever
•April 21, 2015: completed the B1 DELF exam
•May 13, 2015: watched Stars on Ice and met Patrick Chan
•June 27, 2015: grad and prom
•July 5, 2015: left for my trip to Québec for the summer
•August 11, 2015: got a new phone (previous owner of an iPhone 4 😋)
•September 11, 2015: first day working for Elections Canada
•October 2, 2015: bought my camera (Canon 7d)
•November 13, 2015: registered my first car under my name
•December 28, 2015: sold my first commissioned art piece
The past 12 months have been a crazy whirlwind of growth and change. Having the chance to meditate about life this Christmas made me feel blessed and warm inside. I am fortunate to be where I am today, to be surrounded by loved ones, my friends and family.
One thing I have taken away from this past year is the sense of grace from a God who is guiding me. 2015 has been a season of transition, between graduating from high school, travelling, working, relationships, becoming an adult, and so forth. I feel that I would be very lost without the humble gift of direction I have been given by Him and the ones He surrounds me with. Christmas is truly a constant reminder of how blessed we really are!

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7)
All the best in 2016!
Thanks for following along and chasing me on this journey!
