Brooklyn: From the name of the borough of New York, originally derived from Dutch Breukelen meaning "broken land".
Hi there, and welcome! This is the space where I share about everything I love- art, photography, fashion, travel and just day to day life.
My name is Brooklyn (in case you haven't caught on already), but if you want to call me Brook (or Bruekelen) I can totally understand. In all honesty, you really don't have to travel far to discover nobody besides the English can pronounce my name properly anyhow.
Here are some random tid-bits about me!

- I have two auto-immune diseases; they are called Type One Diabetes and Celiac Disease. Although living with these struggles hasn't been easy, I am hopeful that one day Type One will become type none, and "gluten free" will be no more!
- I'm a dedicated fan of all things nautical. (This could only be a coincident, as I live smack-dab in the middle of continent.)
- During winter, you can find me at the rink either viewing, officiating or playing the wonderful sport of ringette. Between my two sisters and I, we are an active trio all playing the sport we love.
- Art has always been my passion, whether it be by expression in my clothing style, photography, or my good old friends- pen and paper.
- I love my family. Although we are a busy bunch, we are incredibly close. Here are the five of us.
- I've been told that I get my artistic genes from my mom. She owns her own graphic design company. My dad, on the other hand, is an electric motor re-winder who is always busy with his own projects too. (And apparently I have his nose?)
Maddy is 14 years old, the middle child of us three girls. Don't let her little figure fool ya! If walking around on her arms most of the day doesn't impress you, you'll be taken away when you try one of her masterpiece baking creations.
Dakota is 12 years old, commonly referred to as Kota, or perhaps t-r-o-u-b-l-e, for obvious reasons. Sweet tooth, hockey enthusiast, and sass talker. If you ever need a dog-sitter, this is your chick! - Also, these are our fur-babies: Zhoda (our dog) and Bentley (our cat).
Thanks for following along and chasing me on this journey!
