One day, with our lists in hand, my friend Andrea and I decided to pick up some groceries near campus. It was the foggiest day that our eyes had ever witnessed in Rivière-du-Loup (or our entire lives, for that matter.) Indeed, it could have been staged right from the scene of a horror movie. The only thing I presumed was missing, as we stood there surrounded by the asphalt parking lot, was tumbleweed rolling by in the wind.
Suddenly, something caught our eyes in the distance..
Suddenly, something caught our eyes in the distance..
The something was a fair!
I think there must only be two reasons an individual could walk by a fair and not be aware of it..
While asking around, Andrea and I learned that the fair was on the approaching Friday. Being the shutterbug's we are, we became quite excited for another opportunity to expose ourselves to the limelight (that was rather absent in town if I do say so myself.) The only worry was the weather, on account of the whole bloody week being rainy.. and continuing to be bitter. Thankfully, that Friday the weather pulled through and didn't disappoint!
In today's blog post I am pleased to feature some snapshots of the fair we visited in Rivière-du-Loup. If you've been keeping up with my posts, you'll remember my Night Shoot blog from about a week ago. The photos I took at the fair were actually from the same night, but I figured they deserved their own spotlight too.. Yenno?
Here's some rather colourful night shots of a good time with my friends Rita, Andrea and I at the fair.
I think there must only be two reasons an individual could walk by a fair and not be aware of it..
- They were busy talking. (Possible..)
- They were walking blindly through a thick blanket of fog. (Very possible..)

First impression: a lot more English advertising than anticipated. My guess is that because most of the fair is commercialized it is generally displayed in English instead of French. I was also genuinely surprised to find out that most Québécois call popcorn POPCORN instead of maïs soufflé. Allez savoir.. go figure!
Thanks for following along and chasing me on this journey!
