During my stay in Rivière-du-Loup, Québec, the first "real" sightseeing our program did was at Parc de la Pointe, along the banks of the Saint Lawrence River.
When I did the Explore Program in the summer of 2014, my campus was within walking distance of the St. Lawrence River. This summer, my campus was a little further from the river. On that account, we bused to the shore instead.

Considering I have technically lived along the St. Lawrence for two months now, I like to think that I have had my fair share of river views. Be that as it may, one of the most popular questions that I often receive still gets me every time. "Which region of the river is the best?"
Well..
With regard to this, I can honestly say the St. Lawrence always ceases to fascinate me from every vantage point. Why is that?
I was scrolling through Pinterest (surprise), when I found a quote that really spoke to me on this idea.

"As the beauty of nature is constant, so is the God who made it.
God is constant and His love for you is just and shown in multitudes of ways; through the peaks of the mountains, streams of the rivers, even down to the sounds of birds. We are reminded by His unchanging grace and mercy for us daily. Reminiscence in the beauty of God's constant love for us, today! Be happy and be glad in it."
Taking in the cool salty air and botanical rocky shores of the Saint Lawrence River is something that felt familiar to me this summer. It was in my time at the shores of La Pointe however, with His constant love for us, that I began to feel at home.

There are several inns to stay in down Blvd Cartier, as RDL is a tourist city. One of the more interesting places I saw was Le Motel d'Amour.
The roses were in full bloom, and it was beautiful!
Of course we had to stop for a treat at Le Régal Glacé too!
Good eats (poutines & maple sugar flavoured everything).
New friends.
Conversations en français.
Scenic backdrops.
What more could one ask for?

The grey and white skies really brightened up the photos we took on what turned out to be a rather gloomy day in the end. Props to my talented friend Andrea, who took some shots of me just before the rain hit us! The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. (Psalm 19:1) |
If you were curious, this is actually what Andrea and I were stepping in. The struggle we will go through for a few photos I tell ya!
Thanks for following along and chasing me on this journey!
